New video: 10 years, 11,000 smiles, another high-energy Phuture Phoenix Day

UW-Green Bay’s Phuture Phoenix program marked its 10-year anniversary in style Tuesday (Oct. 9), welcoming more than 950 fifth-graders to campus for the first of this year’s annual Fall Tour Days (the other is Thursday). Nearly 250 UW-Green Bay student role models helped make the day a success, not to mention countless campus and community volunteers. During its first decade, the program has served more than 11,000 students, including 23 current UW-Green Bay students who will receive Phuture Phoenix scholarships this academic year. We talked to one of them — junior Theresa Rock, who led a tour group from Nicolet Elementary, which she attended — for our video on Tuesday’s Tour Day event. For those who haven’t been around since the beginning — or who would like a reminder on all that this program does — the piece also offers the basics on Phuture Phoenix (not to mention a cute kid interview or two). Check it out here.
