Institute for Learning’s fall conference examines culture, families, schools
Fostering a bond between schools and families will be a focus of the 12th annual Institute for Learning Partnership’s Fall Conference next Thursday and Friday (Oct. 7 and 8) on campus. Gwendolyn Webb-Johnson, a Texas A&M faculty member and high-profile guest speaker and consultant on culturally responsive instructional leadership, community partnerships and multicultural education, will be the keynote speaker. Her address, “A Family Re-union: Culturally Responsive Engagement” is free and open to the public at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the Phoenix Room. At Friday’s workshop, she’ll lead “Building Community: A Journey of Purposeful Family Engagement.” More details.
