Middler music camp comes to loud and melodic conclusion

If you’ve been out and about on campus the week of July 12 you couldn’t help but notice all the young people here for the 2010 Middle School Band, Orchestra and Choir Camp.  Prof. Kevin Collins, Arts and Visual Design, is camp director. (With attendance of 185 campers, that’s a lot of directing.) The closing concerts are Saturday morning (July 17) with concerts on the half-hour starting at 9:30 with orchestra followed by band, 10 a.m.; X-Band (beginners, 10:30 a.m.) and various choirs, 11 a.m. until 12:30).  This year there are more than 75 students in the “camp chorus” — the ever-popular activity in which band kids sing.
