In the news: coverage of National History Day

Saturday’s (April 6) National History Day event got some media attention during the weekend, with WLUK, Fox 11 coming to campus to check out the projects. As we told you here last week, the regional National History Day contest — this is the 11th consecutive year UW-Green Bay has hosted — featured approximately 400 middle and high school students who shared their projects on the theme “Turning Points in History: People, Ideas and Events.” The station interviewed UW-Green Bay archivist Deb Anderson, the regional coordinator for National History Day. “It’s a project that allows students to really, at all levels, shine and do their own particular interest and their own area of expertise,” Anderson said. “It’s an exciting day and they’ve become amazing scholars on certain topics.” Full story.
