Sigma Tau Delta invites everyone to the Celebration of Thought and Beauty

Sigma Tau Delta is hosting the Celebration of Thought and Beauty in the Phoenix Club on Friday, April 21. Doors open at 5:30 and Sigma Tau Delta humbly invites everyone to come join in the fun, whether you wish to perform or just watch.

Whether you’d like to attend virtually or physically, you can join the fun by participating in the variety show/talent show. Performers can include musicians who sing, play instruments, or dance, actors who do improvisational acting, musical theater excerpts, or theater excerpts, creative writers who perform poetry or nonfiction, artists who wish to show their sculptures, paintings, or drawings, or any other talent someone wishes to bring to the table.

This semester, Sigma Tau Delta joins forces with the Gateways to Phoenix Success (GPS) First Year Seminar group: Cultivating Creativity to explore mental health as it relates to creativity and the arts. GPS hopes to focus on mental health awareness as they’ve noticed a strong need to address mental health across the UW-Green bay campuses (dorm room loneliness, homework stress, and/or depression-related insomnia).

The celebration presents an opportunity to build a sense of community with Sigma Tau Delta and GPS. Many other clubs will also be working with Sigma Tau Delta, displaying their artwork. For example, the Crochet Club will be selling their work for anyone interested in their products. Sigma Tau Delta will also be running a book drive! If there are any books you’d like to donate, please give somebody else the chance to enjoy them!

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Celebration of Thought and Beauty by signing up to perform. Those who cannot attend in person may still watch and perform virtually. However you decide to attend, everyone will be given the chance to express their creativity without pressure!

Sign up and find the stream here! Sigma Tau Delta and GPS hope to see you at the Celebration of Thought and Beauty for a night of community, camaraderie, and snacks.
