Scott Koffarnus, creative director and CEO of the well-connected homegrown agency Cineviz, will share ideas with a student audience at the first-ever “ActivaTED” conference taking place from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. this Sunday (March 30) at the University Union.

The conference is organized by the UW-Green Bay Leadership Task Force, a collaboration of UW-Green Bay Student Life and Residence Life professionals and others across campus focused on presenting students with leadership and leadership-development opportunities. Workshops, programs and conferences are among the periodic offerings.

Koffarnus, a 1986 graduate in Communication Arts, has 30 years of experience as a designer, animator, producer, writer and director. He was for many years the creative director for the highly regarded Pulse Communications and he later launched his own digital media companies, Freshpaint Digital and Cineviz.

He rolled both companies into one on Jan. 1, 2012, keeping the Cineviz name and focusing on experiential media and digital communications. The company’s expertise involves a mix of audio/visual expertise and IT and creative content development. Clients have included major brands such Tyco, Intel, Symantec, Nickelodeon, Nike, Fair Oaks Farms, Bemis and global advertising agencies. The company’s main markets are corporate, retail, experiential (event) marketing and museum/exhibit design.

In keeping with the spirit of TED Talks, Koffarnus will talk on ideas and creativity in remarks limited to 18 minutes in length. TED stands for “Technology, Entertainment, Design” and is now a popular international conference series.

Program coordinator Stephanie Kaponya of the Student Life Office says the conference will have full attendance, with 60 student participants registered in advance.
