Here’s an interesting event that Student Services is promoting for next Thursday (March 8): Help students avoid the “Sophomore Slump” by suggesting they take part in Sophomore Success Day, which will take place all day at Room 1600 of the Student Services Building (which is the Academic Advising/Career Services area). Organizers note that by sophomore year the thrill of being away at college has faded for many students, leaving them feeling stressed about deciding on a major and choosing a career path. If you know of a sophomore student who has questions about registration, majors or careers (or anything in-between), please let them know about this day. The purpose of the event is to help students continue to feel connected and help them navigate what can be a complex transition. No appointments are necessary; they can stop in anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and an appropriate adviser will assist them. Questions? Contact Rosa Retrum at ext: 2140.
