Give the gift of LIR to that special learner

Give the gift of knowledge? Sounds like a great holiday shopping idea. That’s why the people at UW-Green Bay Bay’s Learning in Retirement program are promoting the sale of one-year gift certificates for LIR membership. “It never goes out of style, you don’t have to worry about sizes or colors, it doesn’t gather dust or clutter anyone’s closet, and it keeps on giving all year long.” On the plus side, the retired or semi-retired recipient will choose from hundreds of interesting and informative classes on a wide range of topics; opportunities to take daylong coach trips and tours to historic sites, plays and special events; invitations to all LIR Social events throughout the year, and free access to LIR’s Lending Library of educational DVD films, including an extensive collection of “The Great Courses” series. We’re told The LIR Gift Certificate “looks elegant” and can be redeemed anytime within the next three years. The current annual fee is $100 (less than $8.35 a month!), running either January to December or September to August, member’s choice. To order an LIR Gift Certificate, contact the LIR Office at (920) 465-2356 or lir@uwgb.edu.
