Announcing ‘Employee Resource Groups’ at UW-Green Bay

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-initiated groups of University of Wisconsin–Green Bay faculty and staff that share common interests, issues, backgrounds, characteristics, or pursuits. ERGs provide a formal link for employees and UWGB’s Inclusivity and Equity efforts. Employee Resource Groups enhance feelings of connectedness and provide opportunities for employees to seek and offer support to one another. These groups provide strategic recruiting and retention efforts for the University, and provide opportunities for the diverse population of UWGB faculty and staff to gather socially and share ideas and similar interests outside of their individual departments. Examples of ERGs at other organizations include international groups, caregiving or parenting groups and new employee groups. At this time UWGB has one ERG, the Pride Center ERG, so there is an opportunity for other ERGs to be established. If you are interested in starting an ERG, please check out the Inclusive Excellence website for Employee Resource Groups (ERG) Program Guidelines here. Or, contact Inclusive Excellence Coordinator Stacie Christian at christis@uwgb.edu.
