D2L upgrade is coming; training is recommended

UW-Green Bay’s D2L (Desire2Learn online learning software) is going to be upgraded over the January Winterim 2014. Our friends in Academic Technology Services tell us the new version will entail some changes to the look and feel, as well as new features and improvements. Notable improvements will involve redesigns of the Content area, the Discussion area and the User Progress area. ATS wants faculty and staff to have plenty of information and opportunities to learn about the D2L changes, and will be offering the following one-hour training sessions, all of which will convene in IS Room 1004:

• Tuesday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m.
 • Wednesday, Dec. 4, noon • Thursday, Dec. 5, noon
 • Tuesday, Dec. 10, 8 a.m. or 3 p.m.
 • Wednesday, Dec. 11, 8 a.m. or 3 p.m.
 • Thursday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m.
• Tuesday, Dec. 17, 8 a.m. or 3 p.m. • Wednesday, Dec. 18, noon • Thursday, Dec. 19, 8 a.m. or 3 p.m.
• Thursday, Dec. 26, noon

Note: A test environment will be available during the training sessions. Documentation about the new version features and instructions is available now in D2L. You will need to self-register for the “D2L Learning Environment Guide” class. Self-registration information is available – click here.
