CATL offers advanced online workshop grants; due date Nov. 27

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning is offering 10 $2,000 grants to instructors to take part in an intensive hybrid  two-week workshop on advanced online teaching concepts and course development that will run during Winterim 2014. This program will foster lively, interdisciplinary conversations about best practices in online teaching and prepare and support instructors to submit an online course for Quality Matters recognition (www.qualitymatters.org/higher-education-program).

To apply, instructors should send an email with the following information: An outline of your online teaching experience including course names and semesters taught; the online course you would like to revise and submit for review (must have been taught at least twice), including areas you would like to improve; evidence of your teaching excellence and interest in online education; and a commitment to participate in all required elements of the program including attendance at sessions from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 6, 8, 13 and 15, as well as participation in all online course components and completion of a successful Quality Matters review by the end of Summer 2014.
