#PhoenixFriday gets frightening
This week’s edition of #PhoenixFridays takes a spooky turn with Halloween-related promotions over the weekend. Tonight (Thursday, Oct. 30) is the annual celebration of creative student costumes, the Grave Dancers Ball, at 9 p.m. in the Phoenix Room. The movie “The Purge: Anarchy” is playing at Cheapseats this weekend. On Friday (Oct. 31), the annual Batty Bash runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Union, with trick-or-treat treats at all dining locations. On Friday night, the Phoenix volleyball team welcomes UW-Milwaukee with free admission for any youth in costume as well as trick-or-treating prior to the 7 p.m. match. No need to fear these chilling events… The Phoenix Bookstore is offering a 20 percent discount Friday on winter hats, gloves, mittens and scarves, and also, rumor has it, treating customers to cookies (until they disappear). The scare doesn’t end there, especially if you are the Michigan Tech women’s basketball team, which takes on the returning Horizon League Champion Green Bay women’s basketball team in a season-opening exhibition game at the Kress Events Center Saturday at 1 p.m. For more, including home soccer matches, check out the weekend schedule.
