Plan ahead for Vets Day reception, Maino, and day before 11-11-11

The 2011 Chancellor Veteran Reception will once again recognize all those who have served and are currently serving, especially those who have been activated recently and are now returning to school. This year the annual UW-Green Bay observance will be held the day before Veterans Day. It is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the University Union’s Phoenix Room.

The guest speaker will be broadcast personality John Maino, known for his support of veterans and his authorship of the books Frontlines:  Personal Accounts of Wisconsin Veterans and The Pacific. Kim and Allen Tuttle from Luxemburg will arrange a visit of the “Wisconsin Wall” remembering all Wisconsin veterans who have died since the start of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

All veterans and their families, campus and community, are invited to attend. The Vets 4 Vets Student Club will be collecting items for care packages to be sent to currently activated service members.  Music and refreshments will be provided.
