Press-Gazette: Strategic planning could awaken ‘sleepy giant’ at Weidner
Among the lead stories in the Green Bay Press-Gazette today (Thursday, July 28) is a piece by entertainment reporter Warren Gerds noting that campuswide strategic planning at UW-Green Bay, now under way, could be particularly important for the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
The article quotes Chancellor Thomas Harden, “There are things that we think we can do that we have not done in the past to make the Weidner Center more successful and more useable by community people… We think that we can make it more important and helpful to our students and to faculty in theater, music and other arts.”
The Weidner Center planning includes use of an outside consultant and private meetings with key constituents and groups. The goal is to come up with a solid business plan. A local arts promoter quoted in the P-G story was complimentary of Harden’s approach. Read more.
