Be advised: Public Safety ‘active shooter’ training is late Wednesday in MAC Hall
Mary Ann Cofrin Hall will be closed to the public from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (June 5). Despite the fact it is an “active shooter” drill, it will be a relatively quiet exercise. Officers will not be using firearms or simulating the sound of gunfire. Instead, says Chief Tom Kujawa, it is an opportunity to practice team formations and room entry, and to train in the use of new ballistic shields. Posted signs and locked doors will greet anyone seeking access to MAC Hall during Wednesday night’s exercise. (Yes, they know about FOCUS. The exercise won’t begin until AFTER the final FOCUS folks have left the building.)
