‘Ambassador of Joy’: Local service for Evan Meder is Sunday

A local memorial service will be held Sunday (June 2) for Evan Meder, son of Associate Prof. Randy Meder and wife Margaret. As we told you earlier this week, Evan passed away May 22 at the age of 8. He was born with Apert Syndrome, a rare craniofacial disorder that affected most of the bones in his body, and he underwent numerous surgeries throughout his brief life. Evan’s obituary calls him an “ambassador of joy,” and from the tributes we’ve heard and seen, it’s an apt description. “Evan loved everyone, bringing people together to see life through his joy filled eyes,” says the obituary in today’s (May 30) Green Bay Press-Gazette. Evan’s memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe St., Green Bay. The family will greet visitors following the service. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Craniofacial Association, 13140 Coit Road, Suite 517, Dallas, Texas, 75240.
