New soccer coach Kelderman is former pro, Neenah star

Kris Kelderman has been named head coach of the UW-Green Bay men’s soccer program, AD Ken Bothof announced this week. Kelderman was a two-time state champion and the Wisconsin player of the year in 1986 at Neenah High School. He was inducted into the state soccer hall of fame in March 2010. Kelderman’s playing resume includes four years with three franchises in the top U.S. league, the MLS, including back-to-back championships while playing for D.C. United in the late 1990s. He also played professionally for the Miami Fusion, New England Revolution, Milwaukee Rampage, Milwaukee Wave, St. Louis Ambush, Tampa Bay Terror, Buffalo Blizzard and the Baltimore Blast. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1991 with a bachelor’s in sociology, and helped the Cavaliers win the national championship in 1989.
