I-43 work on/near Frigo Bridge could affect traffic to campus

Motorists who cross the Fox River on Green Bay’s Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge (Tower Drive) may want to consider using an alternate route, as construction activities on this stretch of I-43 will add significant travel time this construction season. Work on the bridge and deteriorating pavement along I-43 between Military and Irwin avenues could cause delays and disruption. Travelers are encouraged to consider carpooling, using public transit or using alternate routes, including US 41/141, WIS 172, WIS 29, WIS 54/57. The DOT will suspend construction activities during holidays and Green Bay Packers home football games, but lane and ramp restrictions are expected to remain in place. Complicating all this, of course, is the significant construction taking place on Green Bay’s West Side in connection with the US 41 rebuilding. University employees with construction-season events might want to observe current conditions (or as current as is practical) and notify their constituents and visitors of the traffic issues.
