We think you’ll “like” it — Facebook aids in first-ever campus Big Birding Day

Our friends at the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity are working to document as many birds as possible on campus and within the Cofrin Arboretum, beginning at midnight tonight (Thursday, April 26) and continuing through midnight Friday (April 27).

Prof. Vicki Medland will establish a thread on the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Cofrinbiodiversity) for ornithologists and others to share information and photos (those not on Facebook can email finds and photos to biodiversity@uwgb.edu).

Students and faculty will be out in force by 7 a.m. Friday, and Bob Howe, director of the Center, says ID’ing 50 species is a realistic target. To add your info or simply learn more about the project, like the Cofrin Center Facebook page. Happy Birding!
