Grief support group to plant Memorial Garden near Union
The student group “Together We Cope: Support for UWGB Grieving Students” plans to inaugurate a Memorial Garden on campus with a ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, near the carillon. Members of the University community will be invited to plant an annual flower in honor of a deceased love one. The UW-Green Bay group is the local chapter of the nationwide grief-support organization National Students of AMF. (AMF isn’t an acronym but rather the initials of the woman who inspired the movement.) Prof. Illene Noppe of Human Development, a prominent scholar of death-education issues and a researcher on grief and coping among young people, is the chapter’s adviser.
