Switching seasons: Statewide tornado drill is Thursday

Sure, the last of the snow is just melting, but Wisconsin is preparing for a statewide tornado drill at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, April 24 — and UW-Green Bay will take part. A mock Tornado Watch will be issued at 1 p.m., followed by a mock Tornado Warning at 1:45. Students, faculty and staff are advised to discuss ahead of time where they will go for the drill, and can check out the severe weather section of the University’s Emergency Plan here: http://www.uwgb.edu/publicsafety/pdf/Campus_Plan.pdf (if you have trouble with the link, copy and paste it into your browser). If you haven’t signed up for the GB Alert System, now’s a great time to do so, here: http://www.uwgb.edu/publicsafety/gbalert/. Public Safety wants to hear your feedback if the tornado drill announcement isn’t loud enough, so please take note when the time comes. If severe weather is predicted for Thursday, the drill will be moved to Friday, April 25.
