Walk a mile in a woman’s shoes, for April 20 fundraiser

Put on your red peep toe pumps or try wearing a wedge, and join Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, the international men’s march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. The Green Bay event will be held Saturday, April 20, departing from Hagemeister Park downtown. Registration begins at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. All funds raised will be used by the Brown County Community Coordinated Response Team to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault. Online registration is open at www.walkamilegb.com. Both men and women are encouraged to participate, and all children age 13 and under may walk for free! While men are welcome to borrow a pair of our high heels, participating women and children may enjoy the comfort of their own walking shoes. Worried you can’t make it a mile in sky high heels? No worries, there will be a flip flop tent half way through the course. For $5 you can switch out your shoes for something a little more comfortable. This walk is being coordinated by a Leadership Green Bay small group. For more information, contact Emily Rogers at rogerse@uwgb.edu.
