Great Lakes expert is special guest lecturer April 4

Veteran Great Lakes researcher Joseph DePinto, Ph.D., will be the visiting lecturer at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, in MAC Hall 105 at UW-Green Bay. His topic is “Integrated Models to Support Management and Restoration of the Great Lakes.” DePinto has spent the last 11 years with LimnoTech, a water science and engineering consulting firm in Ann Arbor, Mich. For nearly three decades previous he was a professor of environmental engineering with Clarkson University and SUNY-Buffalo.

UW-Green Bay’s David Dolan says this special Natural and Applied Sciences seminar is intended for a general audience and is free and open to students, faculty and members of the community. Dolan says DePinto’s topic relates to current NOAA-funded research that Prof. Kevin Fermanich is heading at UW-Green Bay into hypoxia issues (oxygen depletion) in areas of the Great Lakes.
