More money in the paychecks next month

The Internal Revenue Service has released new tax withholding tables that will result in more take-home pay this spring for American workers. These new tables are due to provisions to the tax law made in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Federal Stimulus Package) signed by President Obama on Feb. 17. The UW System is implementing the new federal tax tables effective with paychecks that are issued on and after April 1. Refer to the UW Service Center website for more information about the new tax tables: Click here.

For those who would like to file a new W-4 form: Click here. To be effective on the first payments in April, new W-4 forms should be submitted to Payroll (ES 107) by Wednesday (March 25) for unclassified employees and by Thursday, April 2, for classified employees.
