Cofrin School of Business hosts annual Keynote and Networking event

“Entrepreneurship: Lessons in Survival and Success” was the theme of the keynote speaker for the Cofrin School of Business‘ (CSB) annual networking event. The event connects students, faculty and staff, and helps to educate future business leaders.

Attendees heard from leaders in the business community, as well as Gretchen Gilbertson, CEO and Co-Founder of Sèura, Inc. who spoke about entrepreneurship and her unfiltered view of business ownership. She shared powerful insights including four key lessons that helped her survive and succeed in her entrepreneurial journey.

In addition, the Weyenberg Prize for Business Excellence was awarded to two local businesses, Bellin and Shoreline Credit Union.

The prize for business excellence is named in recognition of Tim Weyenberg, retired CEO and Executive Chair of the Board of Directors for Foth and former Executive-in-Residence for the Cofrin School of Business. The 2023 Weyenberg Prize is awarded to two deserving companies that demonstrate the three essential elements for business excellence — leadership transformation, strategy, and execution. In addition, two $2,500 scholarships in the names of the winning companies will be awarded to UW-Green Bay business students who best exemplify the spirit of the Weyenberg Prize.

Bellin

For more than a century, Bellin Health has served as the premier local business and community health partner of Northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Renowned for community outreach, Bellin Health is the official healthcare provider of the Green Bay Packers and annually hosts one of the nation’s largest 10K events, the Bellin Run. Known for its emphasis on preventative healthcare, Bellin engages people in healthy lifestyles while making the cost of care more affordable.

Shoreline Hometown Credit Union

Shoreline Hometown Credit Union takes the worry out of banking for its members by empowering them to succeed financially with a straightforward experience. Relying on a strong culture built on Hometown Values, Shoreline partners with local nonprofits to “Do The Most Good” as it supports underserved communities. Building impactful momentum each year, Shoreline has won Best of the Lakeshore for the third year in a row and recently opened its newest branch in Green Bay.

The Cofrin School of Business truly appreciates the energy and support shown by all of the community members, faculty, staff, and students who attended the annual Keynote and Networking Event. It is through this support from the community that the CSB is able to continue growing to serve our diverse region, educate students through high impact experiences, and innovatively prepare future business leaders of Northeastern Wisconsin.
