Philosophers Café and ‘Economic Inequality’

The Philosophers Café meets again this Thursday (March 7) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Karvana coffeehouse downtown. The topic this month is economic inequality, with discussion at the joint UWGB/SNC community conversation led by UW-Green Bay faculty member Tonmoy Islam of Urban and Regional Studies. He’ll walk participants through a review of what economic inequality is, how it is measured, and how is it different from poverty. Prof. Islam will help discuss the pros and cons of inequality of wealth and then compare and contrast it with inequality of opportunity.  The website for more background is www.uwgb.edu/philosophers-cafe/.
