Top 10 for Phoenix women!

Fans of the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team got a pleasant surprise Tuesday when ESPN/USA Today released this week’s edition of the Top 25 coaches poll. The Phoenix is ranked No. 9 in the nation! Green Bay has climbed two spots to claim a three-way tie for ninth with Big Ten leader Ohio State and — get this — perennial national champion Tennessee. (The Phoenix held steady at No. 12 in the obviously less reliable AP sportswriters poll).  In any event, unbelievable stuff for a so-called “mid-major.” Congratulations to the team and coaching staff on some well-deserved recognition.
