‘Morality of the Free Market’ is next Philosophers’ Cafe

Just because it’s January doesn’t mean the Philosophers’ Café takes a month off. If you’re interested, mark your calendar for 7 p.m. next Thursday (Jan. 12) at St. Brendan’s Inn, 234 S. Washington. Associate Prof. Paul Johnson of St. Norbert College will speak on “The Morality (or Otherwise) of the Free Market.” Johnson will help participants consider the moral orientations of two great thinkers on the topic: Bernard de Mandeville and Adam Smith. This Café session is a joint collaboration of UW-Green Bay and St. Norbert College through a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council. More information.
