UW-Green Bay and St. Norbert partner to host Kwanzaa, Dec. 3

UW-Green Bay and St. Norbert College are co-hosting a Kwanzaa Celebration at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. in the Phoenix Room of the University Union, UW-Green Bay. The theme of this year’s celebration is Kuumba: Creativity. Kuumba is day six of Kwanzaa, and it means “doing as much as we can, in any way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.”

Kimberly Barrett, Lawrence University’s vice president for diversity and inclusion and associate dean, will be the keynote speaker. Barrett has more than 25 years of experience engaging faculty, students, community members and more in promoting learning, social justice, student development and diversity. The event will also feature African Dancing by the Nefertari Dance Company.

A dinner will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.
