Phoenix men, women win big in exhibition openers


The Green Bay women’s basketball team thumped Minnesota-Duluth at the Kress Center on Saturday afternoon, winning their exhibition opener 80-25. The Phoenix led 55-13 at the end of three quarters. (Yes, the NCAA women’s game has moved from 20-minute halves to four 10-minute quarters.) Next up for Coach Kevin Borseth’s team is a Thursday date (Nov. 5, 7 p.m.) with St. Norbert visiting the Kress to conclude exhibition play. Also this past Saturday, the Green Bay men’s basketball team took to the Resch Center floor for the first time in 2015-16 under new head coach Linc Darner, and went all “RP40” in a 95-41 victory over UW-Stout.
