Phirst photos from Phuture Phoenix Day

Mostly gray and damp outdoors, the color of the day inside was electric green as UW-Green Bay’s Phuture Phoenix program hosted its major fall tour day on Tuesday (Oct. 9). We’ll have links to videos, more photos and more, later, but here’s our first look at the adorable kids and the people who volunteer to help them: see photos.

VIPs, Phuture Phoenix friends turn out to celebrate
It goes without saying that Phuture Phoenix tour day couldn’t function without the assistance of hundreds of UW-Green Bay student mentors and dozens upon dozens of staff, faculty and administrative helpers. If you clicked through our photo gallery (link above) you also likely noted that the day has become exceedingly popular with local civic leaders, friends of UW-Green Bay and elected officials, many of whom also volunteer to lend a hand. Among those present Tuesday and captured by our cameras were Mayor Jim Schmitt (who read a proclamation); state Sen. Dave Hansen; Trustees Diane Ford, Beth Gochnauer and Ginny Riopelle (program co-founder); Phuture Phoenix philanthropists Ron and Colleen Weyers, as well as Jack Riopelle, Dick Gochnauer, Barb Lemerond, Barth Wolf, Maryanne Weyenberg and Jeanne Calewerts, just to name a few.
