Based on research they did on why millennials are attracted to work with certain companies, Dyess and her team pitched the idea of stories and videos that outline the organizational culture at West Bend Mutual Insurance and how those cultural aspects match the company’s values. During the process, Dyess and her team also met Glenn Reid, inventor of Apple’s iMovie consumer video editing software.

Dyess and student Carol Brehmer (Human Development) are the 14th and 15th UW-Green Bay students to attend The Commons semester-long program in the past four semesters. Students must apply to this selective program. Dyess earns college credit for her participation in The Commons as she spends twelve Fridays from mid-September to December in the program. The Commons is open to all UW-Green Bay students on all campuses from all majors.

In the spring 2019 semester, Dyess took second place in the UW-Green Bay-Student Business Idea Contest on the Green Bay campus.
