Inclusive Excellence Workshops 1 and 2 this week

In response to the Campus Climate survey of 2011, the UW system implemented the Inclusive Excellence initiative to increase one’s understanding of how to be warmly welcoming and provide equity to all employees, students and community members. Based on feedback from employees and students, the UW-Green Bay Inclusivity and Equity Certificate program was uniquely developed to provide recognition to employees as they focus on making UWGB more inclusive and equitable. Workshops 1 and 2 are a part of the requirements to earn Level 1 Inclusivity and Equity Certificates, and are being offered Wednesday, August 9. Completion of these workshops is the first step in completing an Inclusive Excellence rubric with Stacie Christian, Director of Inclusive Excellence and the Pride Center (required for the presentation of the Inclusivity and Equity Level 1 Certificates on August 23). Contact Christian at christis@uwgb.edu to RSVP for yourself, or your department for these two workshops, or to schedule a review of your Inclusivity and Equity rubric.

The morning session focuses on what inclusive excellence is and highlights the understanding of the difference between hate crimes and bias incidents.
