UW-Green Bay’s Training Registry responds to the caregiver crisis

The Training Registry at UW-Green Bay recently launched the Caregiver Network, a job portal for caregivers and caregiving providers. The Training Registry developed the Caregiver Network as a positive way to respond to the looming caregiver crisis in Wisconsin. In early 2019, Governor Evers signed an Executive Order that established a Task Force on Caregiving, charged with addressing the crisis from multiple directions. The number of seniors who need care is skyrocketing, outpacing the pool of caregivers available to help them. The Caregiver Network is a natural extension for the Training Registry. The Training Registry already serves the community of caregivers as the sole verification of state-mandated training, in partnership with Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services, and the Training Registry is a highly-trafficked area on the University’s website, making it a valuable resource.

The Caregiver Network is a self-serve portal. Job seekers can search for jobs by city, zip code or county. Providers with open positions can post their own jobs for a nominal administrative fee. For the month of June, the administrative fee has been waived, and providers can list up to four positions for free.
