Former Green Bay Phoenix players get ‘GLO’ on

How do you make-up the best women’s basketball pro team roster in the state? You sign as many former players from the Green Bay Phoenix as possible. Added to the Wisconsin GLO roster this week was 2017 WNBA draft pick, and Horizon League Player of the Year, Mehryn Kraker. The Wisconsin GLO, a new participant in the Global Women’s Basketball Association, announced its intention to play an inaugural season in the Menominee Nation Arena in February. The arena also serves as home to the NBA G-League franchise, the Wisconsin Herd. Other former Phoenix players named to the roster:

  • Allie LeClaire – A star at Green Bay Notre Dame and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, she most recently played professionally in Ireland.
  • Jessica Lindstrom – The first-team Horizon League selection at UWGB holds the Phoenix record with 1,030 career rebounds (Division I era) and was a standout at Superior High School.
  • Julie Wojta – A second-team All-American at UW-Green Bay with eight years professional experience. Former Horizon League Player of the Year played at Mishicot High School.
