UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium on Tuesday, May 7

UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus student research projects will be presented during an annual campus-wide symposium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus. The community is invited to view the research and meet with students to ask questions and learn more about the specific projects.

The Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium features posters, oral presentations, creative writing and art work prepared by more than 50 students in a wide variety of academic disciplines including creative writing, geography, biology, chemistry, art, psychology and literature. This year’s event will include projects from students at the Manitowoc Campus, Green Bay Campus and Valders High School.

The symposium provides an opportunity for students to share their work right on campus. “UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus has become a leader in offering its freshman and sophomore students opportunities to pursue undergraduate research,” said Associate Prof. Jessica Van Slooten (English), coordinator of the event. “By participating in the event, students learn to present and explain their findings to others. Engaging students in research early in their college career can lead to many meaningful outcomes.”

The symposium at UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus is currently funded through a grant from the UW System. For more information, email vanslooj@uwgb.edu.
