Residence Life Clarification, March 18, 2020

No student is required to move out of campus housing. But for the health and safety of the community, students are strongly encouraged to do so if you have that option. All students can request to stay in housing and those requests will be honored. If you choose to move out of your University residence, please follow the procedures in the email sent on March 17, 2020. Call the Office of Residence Life with any additional questions, at 920-465-2040.bAs outlined in the e-mail:

Begin the Express Check-out process as soon as practical, but no later than 10:00pm Friday, March 27, 2020.

All trash and personal items need to be removed during departure including any food in refrigerators or other areas.  All bikes need to be taken home and not left on bike racks or in apartments/rooms. Once all of your belongings have been removed from your apartment or room you need to complete the Express Check-out process online.  Any potential refunds will be issued based on check-out date so it is important to complete this process on the date you depart.

Before you leave campus empty your mailbox and pick up all packages as well as change subscription addresses (magazines, newspapers, etc.) to your off campus mailing address. Make sure your address is correct in SIS for forwarding purposes.  We forward mail and packages up to three months after your final departure from campus. Not all mail and packages are eligible for forwarding. If you have questions please call the Community Center front desk at 920-465-2040 or e-mail Residence Life at housing@uwgb.edu.

For more information please visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website. Remember to keep an appropriate amount of space from others around you and do not overcrowd elevators or corridors. We respectfully ask that you have no more than one other person assist you in moving out.

If you are currently experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath, or flu-like symptoms, do not return to campus to remove your belongings. You should contact the Office of Residence Life at 920-465-2040 or housing@uwgb.edu.
