Phoenix women seize command with big win

A great team effort on defense and just enough three-point baskets by Tesha Buck, Sam Terry and Mehryn Kraker sent UW-Green Bay past visiting Wright State 61-45 victory Thursday night in a battle of the Horizon League’s top two teams. The Phoenix women (19-4, 9-1) held the high-scoring Raiders (18-6, 7-3) to 35 points below their season average. They lead WSU by two games and a tiebreaker with six to play, giving Green Bay the inside track at its 17th straight conference title and homecourt advantage for the Horizon League tournament.
