Just like kids, seniors are heading back to class online

GREEN BAY, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS) — As schools work to figure out what learning will look like this fall, programs geared toward older adults are working to make many of the same adjustments. UW Green Bay says its retiree-focused Lifelong Learning Institute will move forward this fall to a mostly virtual format. Staff says many people in the community rely on the classes as a form of social interaction. Program coordinator Susan Pike says most classes for the fall semester will be held live online, with others being prerecorded lectures. Several classes, including birdwatching, will still be held in-person outdoors, with social distancing in place. While some classes cannot be held virtually, Pike says she is glad so many can still be offered.
