Passing of former librarian Andy Zinkl

Word has been received that Andy (Andrew R.) Zinkl passed away in September at a rehabilitation center in Milwaukee at the age of 73. Zinkl joined the staff of the University Library at UW-Green Bay in 1974 and served as a reference librarian for nearly 25 years, retiring in 1997. He was active in the community — giving presentations on his hobbies of numismatics and Russian history — and known on campus for helping students and faculty make maximum use of the Cofrin Library’s considerable holdings. He is survived by one daughter, Diana, and was preceded in death (1996) by his wife, Bonnie Fogarty-Zinkl, who was active in the University League and with the former Second Gear resale shop. The family has asked former colleague Joe Gaunt, a lay pastoral minister in the Green Bay area, to assist in scheduling a memorial service at UW-Green Bay at a later date.
