Kraft talks turnout for NBC 26 story on voter registration day

Several local news channels on Tuesday (Sept. 23) ran stories in conjunction with National Voter Registration Day. NBC 26 reporter Megan Lowry turned to Prof. Emeritus Michael Kraft to round out her piece on registration and turnout, emphasizing the importance both parties place on getting people to the polls. Despite high interest in the races for governor and attorney general, it’s still an off (non-presidential) year at the polls, Kraft said, and without the “hoopla” of a presidential election, fewer people will participate. “So this year both political parties are doing all that they can to mobilize voters, to maximize turnouts,” Kraft said, “because in a close election we can say pretty much every vote counts.” Full story.
