Constitution Day faculty panel will address Supreme Court happenings

Constitution Day (the 227th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution) will be observed at 4 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 17) in a program in the Christie Theatre on the lower level of the University Union. A panel discussion will feature Assistant Profs. Alison Staudinger and Jon Shelton of Democracy and Justice Studies, and Assistant Prof. Elizabeth Wheat of Public and Environmental Affairs. They’ll discuss recent Supreme Court issues and questions including “Do corporations have First Amendment rights?” The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
