Video and photos: Schwabe North America donates lab equipment for NAS

When Schwabe North America decided to integrate its Utah-based Nature’s Way operations with those of Enzymatic Therapy in Green Bay, the company ended up with surplus equipment — and plenty of it. As it turned out, the move was a boon for UW-Green Bay, which recently received many of the high-quality extras at no charge. Assistant Prof. Julie Lukesh and laboratory technician Joe Schoenebeck, both of Natural and Applied Sciences, ended up getting their pick of rotary evaporator equipment, glassware and more — equipment that Schoenebeck estimates would have run $15,000 to $20,000 if purchased new. Schwabe’s Brandon Podhola chose UW-Green Bay because the company’s lab employs eight UWGB grads — and now both sides are looking to cultivate their mutually beneficial relationship moving forward.
