UW-Green Bay Theatre to premiere ‘Dreaming of Forests’

Dreaming of Forests, UW-Green Bay theatre program
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay theatre program will present the timely and relevant comedy, Dreaming of Forests.

Dreaming of Forests is an original script written by playwright Doug Bedwell, that will make its world premiere at UW-Green Bay.

Dreaming of Forests is a comedy and fantasy about choices, the environment, politics, mythology and art. The story revolves around two artist friends who end up working on opposite sides of an environmental issue. The artists are visited in their dreams by mythical muses.

UW-Green Bay Arts and Visual Design Professor Laura Riddle will direct the performance.

“This play is a perfect match for UW-Green Bay with its interdisciplinary themes and environmental focus,” said Riddle.

Bedwell was on site as students worked on the play. Bedwell is currently teaching a playwriting seminar this semester on the UW-Green Bay campus. He was able to clarify his vision of the worlds created in the play and gave students a first-hand opportunity to see how new script is developed for production.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 21, 22, and 27-30 in the University Theatre in Theatre Hall on the UW-Green Bay campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive. Tickets for Dreaming of Forests are $15 in advance, $18 at the door for adults; $12 in advance, $15 at the door for children and seniors; and $10 for UW-Green Bay students.
