Schoolchildren, faculty and staff alike, warmed by 'Laffle'

The fourth annual UW-Green Bay Laffle (a raffle-like charity drive that manages a few laughs as well as cool prizes and a feel-good glow) provided hundreds of items that will help local schoolchildren in need. The Registrar’s staff is the campus organizer, while UW-Green Bay faculty and staff are the primary donors. As the photos indicate, new socks, underwear, sports bras, t-shirts, gently used tennis shoes, gym shorts, hats, gloves, mittens, etc. were donated this year. Donors receive a raffle ticket for every item donated with a chance to win, in some cases, fabulous prizes (also donated), in other cases, a prize worth laughing about. Of the time of this writing there were four unclaimed prizes. Check your tickets for the these numbers: 362523, 362531 and 362533. Donations are still accepted through Monday, Nov. 28. Laffle winners are:

Laura Sinclair – gift certificate
Ann Athorp-Krech – Bag of Spices
Kelly McBride – single bottle of wine in holder
Marlene Strebel – Short apron
Karen Dalke – two bottles of wine in a holder
Chris Terrien – plaid apron
Chris Nelson – Jewelery
