Heroics? Training? UW-Green Bay police officer Kelly Jones calls on instincts to help others in Las Vegas

Credit instinct and certainly his training. Without some quick decisions (some might say heroics), UW-Green Bay Police Officer Kelly Jones, and those he was with, may have had a different ending to their story as they personally experienced what is now called the “Las Vegas Massacre,” Oct. 1. Jones said he is sharing his story because others can’t, and because valuable lessons come out of every difficult situation. He encourages his UW-Green Bay peers, friends and family to “always be aware of your surroundings” and to “do something” in the face of fear. Jones, a Technical Sargent for the 148th Fighter Wing, Security Forces, Air National Guard, will be deployed soon.
