FOCUS folks say thanks for the help

Thank you to all of the students, staff and faculty that helped make FOCUS-Registration and Resources 2013 a very positive experience for new students and their parents. That’s the message today from Brenda Amenson-Hill, dean of students and co-director of the FOCUS First-Year Experience program. See a short presentation and video of some of the highlights (go to Thanks FOCUS 2013).

FOCUS launches Wednesday

Just a heads-up: FOCUS Registration and Resources begins Wednesday (June 5) and continues Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday (June 11). Staff and faculty members Universitywide are putting in abundant time and energy to get our newest freshmen acclimated and off to a strong start. From the morning welcome at the Union to the afternoon resource fair at Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, each day brings a new batch and a busy schedule for the hundreds of fall freshmen and their families. Advising and registration are key components. See the full schedule.

Gearing up for FOCUS

Brenda Amenson-Hill, dean of students and FOCUS co-director, reminds us that the welcome-to-campus activities for UW-Green Bay’s newest freshman class begin in earnest Thursday (Aug. 30) and continues through next weekend.  Thanks, in advance, to all faculty and staff members who are participating and also to those who just offer a friendly word or helpful hand as they encounter our orientation participants over the coming days and weeks. Along with move-in day Thursday morning, the other big event that day involves a 3 p.m. welcome ceremony at the Kress Events Center. If you’d like to get a feel for the full Orientation schedule, click on the “calendar” button at the FOCUS website.
