Chartwells “soft rolled” sushi this week in the Garden Cafe… pun intended! It’s already a very popular choice! Here’s more:

-AFC Sushi is a service that was contracted through the Chartwells and the University
-Sushi is made fresh daily
-Student feedback suggested sushi on campus as a dining offering
-Sushi is an additional gluten-free option (minus the soy sauce) with vegetarian and vegan selections available
-Grab & Go Sushi is available in the Garden Café throughout the day
-Made to order Sushi is available 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Garden Café daily
-Party Platter Sushi is available
-Students/faculty/staff can purchase sushi with Dining/Pass/FAST Points
-A transfer meal option will not be available for sushi at this time

Halal chicken now available at Cloud Commons

Chartwells announced that they now offer a halal-certified protein every day at the Cloud Commons. The new option is a result of the diverse international population and Muslim student group that has reached out. Halal food includes any food that falls under specifications outlined in Islamic law and mostly addresses meat. Where to find it? Check out our Fresh Grill station located in the main dining hall. This station runs a weekly menu, in addition offering a made-to-order option for students to request a prepared halal chicken breast.

Luncheon in honor of National Native American Heritage Month to be held Tuesday, Nov. 13 in Cloud Commons

In honor of National Native American Heritage Month, Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA) will be hosting author and poet, Heid E. Erdrich on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cloud Commons located in UW-Green Bay’s University Union. Chef Corey will be doing a cooking demo with her, using the Global Kitchen station in the Marketplace to feature items from her cookbook, “Original Local, Ingenious Foods, Stories and Recipes.” This luncheon is open to the public and is available for the regular cost of dining in the Marketplace for $6.75, plus tax.

  • Small Game Bird in Wild Berry Pepper Sauce
  • Rita Erdrich’s Manoomin (Wild Rice)

NEW: Gluten-free snack shelves in the Garden Cafe

As a result of the focus groups last fall, Chartwells is responding with gluten-free snack shelves located next to beverage coolers in the Garden Cafe. Look for Glutino Snack bars, Glutino Covered pretzels, Blue Diamond Nut Thins (cheddar/ranch) and Mary’s Real Thins (sea salt/garlic rosemary). Also on the menu… Udi’s gluten-free bagels and muffins located in the “On the Go” cooler.
