Close-ups: Field trip down memory lane

Vintage photos, UW-Green BayVintage photographs from the UW-Green Bay archives, mostly dating from the 1970s and ’80s, have been gathered, framed and installed along the walls of the corridor linking the Student Services Building and the Cofrin Library.

The images give campus and community members a sense of history while dressing up the long hallway.

Music faculty member John Salerno said one photo in particular called to mind an early trip to Switzlerland.

“The photo is of the UWGB Band boarding a bus on our way to Chicago O’Hare Airport,” Salerno said. “From there we traveled to Cran, Switzerland where we spent eight weeks at the Institute for Advanced Musical Studies. The female in the picture is Mary Halloin (a 1974 communication and the arts graduate).

The images were arranged for display by Justin Seidl, a student with the University Union graphics shop. See them here, or better yet, take a field trip of your own and check them out in person.
