Student Employee of the Year ceremonyEmily Buelow, the head student building manager at UW-Green Bay’s Kress Events Center, was named the University’s Student Employee of the Year Monday (April 14) during a special recognition event on campus.

Five other finalists for the award were also presented plaques. (Posing afterward with Buelow, who is at far left, were Jordan Marty, Ryan Hass, Brooke Fitzgerald, Eva Campbell and Amanda Eckelberg.)

Buelow was honored for her work overseeing 60 student employees — 25 at the Kress front desk and 35 in the weight room. She runs the eight-week group fitness instructor training program and assists in hiring new group fitness instructors, and was recognized this year by the National Intramural Recreation Sports Association for her active participation at UW-Green Bay. Buelow, a Human Biology major with an emphasis in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology, has presented at state conferences on such subjects as developing and revamping fitness classes.

Buelow was presented with a $50 gift card and a UW-Green Bay Student Employee of the Year engraved plaque during an on-campus ceremony April 14. Her name also was engraved on a plaque that will hang in the Financial Aid and Student Employment Office, and her photo, noting the honor, will be displayed for the next year inside the Kress Events Center.
